Our practice division has a broad range of available opportunities for those candidates wishing to move within practice, into practice and also back into practice.
We recruit for Cheltenham’s “Big Four” which we perceive to be Grant Thornton, Hazlewoods, Horwath Clarke Whitehill and Davis Meyers. As well as these, we also help recruit for a select group of small to medium firms including Berkeley Hamilton, Waugh Haines & Rigby, B&P Accounting, the Classic Finance Group and Paish Tooth. Therefore, whatever your experiences or ambitions we will be able to find the most suitable firm for your career progression.
Through these employers, experience can be gained in the following wide-ranging accounting services; audit, personal and corporation tax, corporate finance, forensic, accounts preparation and mergers & acquisitions.
We understand the differing cultures, salaries and opportunities that each firm can offer a prospective applicant. Some accountants enjoy the more flexible working patterns which allow for a better work/life balance (e.g. A leading firm offers 5 weeks holiday upon start but with the opportunity to “buy” a further week’s holiday) whereas other firms are renowned for their training opportunities.
Having a reputation for honesty and integrity helps enormously along with our unparalleled quality of service. We are only interested in finding the very best practice opportunity for the individual concerned and because we do not target our consultants in the same way as many competitors you will never be over-promised, “pushed” into vacancies we currently have registered or have your time wasted with “speculative” interviews to try and impress our client base.
We are supported by many clients in our advertising and candidate development and would like to continue our progression into becoming the pre-eminent recruitment consultancy in Gloucestershire. We can only achieve that ambition through the quality of our applicants. As well as our website, internet and press advertisements, the most significant source of new registrations will always be personal recommendation and referral. Thus we would like to thank all the people who have done that over our initial two years of recruitment.
For an informal and confidential conversation about your career to date and where it might be most successfully complemented then please do not hesitate to contact either Max Bruckshaw or Dan Bamber. We regularly arrange out-of-hours interviews and can tailor our service to suit the individual.

There's no doubt that the UK's Top 50 firms have had another very successful year. With more than £1bn on top of last year's combined revenues, total combined revenues are now up to £8.7bn.
A huge figure, though that is, it is of course dominated by the Big Four. And audit, despite sometimes appearing like the Cinderella service line, is still the Top 50's biggest money spinner.
But our survey reveals much more. On average women make up only 9.7% of partners within a firm and the number of female qualifieds has dropped year on year by two percentage points. Partners from ethnic minority groups still only make up 5.9% of the total.
And partners are growing older. But does that mean there are huge succession problems looming on the horizon? Some observers do and believe the trend will lead to greater consolidation in the marketplace.
Accountancy Age's Top 50 is the most respected league table ranking the UK's top accountancy firms, compiled in June each year. Click here for more coverage of this year's results.
